Pubs may be allowed to open earlier than planned if they can stick to strict social-distancing rules.

They're not due to reopen until August 10th, but this may be brought forward to the end of June.

The government's roadmap for reopening business says licenced premises can go back to work in phase five, starting from the tenth of August.

But the two main trade groups for pubs say they could limit numbers, require patrons to stay in their seats, and ban live music and DJs, if it meant they could reopen in phase three at the end of June.
