Gardai also found an illegal drinking den
Gardaí are warning their targeted campaign of inspections will continue throughout the weekend.
Stephen Bourke has this report for RedFM News:
'"Fresh pints, TV on and fire lighting" -- a welcome sight in normal times perhaps -- but not in the middle of a pandemic, Gardaí say. Inspections in Limerick, Cork, Carlow and Meath this weekend have already uncovered a number of businesses breaking the rules. That includes so-called "wet pubs" open for "clandestine business". They also found pubs offering "substantial meals" not bothering with social distancing -- or indeed food. And in Navan, they raided a suspected sheebeen to find a crowd of thirty people drinking inside. Files are being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions in several cases. The force is warning pub owners they could face criminal sanctions -- and is reminding people they too have a "social and personal responsibility".'
