The Irish Examiner reports that the worker was tested for the virus after leaving the office as soon as they felt unwell last week.

RedFM News has contacted Apple HQ in the past few minutes and is awaiting an official response from the company however in an email issued to workers Apple says they are working closely with the HSE who have reviewed the case and believe the risk to other employees is low but some fellow Apple workers have been told to self-isolate as a precaution and not to come into the office for an initial 48 hour period.

Deep clean protocols are being deployed across all office areas and in the meantime their offices remain open as normal.

We'll bring you more on this breaking story across the morning.
