Residents living near UCC stage protest as student house parties escalate

Residents living in the vicinity of UCC say they're worried they're facing into a summer of drink fueled parties, verbal abuse, crowds, and loud music.

It's after numerous house parties in recent weeks in student accommodation in the area, which local residents say are disruptive and in breach of COVID19 restrictions.

Residents staged another vigil today calling on students to put an end to house parties, elsewhere another protest is scheduled to take place this evening by residents living on Connaught Avenue.

Speaking to RedFM News local resident Rose say the scenes next door to her in recent weeks have been unacceptable, and many of her neighbours are now afraid to go out:
