Rural Affairs Minister says travel restrictions have been hard on those living rurally

A senior Minister has said 5 kilometre distance rules impact rural Ireland differently to cities.

It comes as the cabinet will make a decision on extending the distance people can travel away from their homes on Friday.

It looks likely to be raised to 20km if ministers agree to move to phase two of the easing of lockdown.

Rural Affairs Minister Michael Ring suggested he's in favour of raising that limit:
