A community outside Macroom say their spirits have been lifted with the news one of the locals Paddy O'Sullivan is due to be discharged from hospital having contracted the coronavirus.
Locals say the 85-year-old is a big part of the community in Rusheen and they can't wait for him to come home.
The Kelleher family have made signs to welcome him out of hospital, which they'll be asking his healthcare providers to show him and speaking to RedFM News Ava Kelleher says the entire community has been given a lift with the positive outcome.
"From what you hear on the news it was always negative stuff, but we all had hope here at home we all knew he was a strong individual so we knew he'd pull through.
"When we got the message that was being taken out of the ICU we were just over the moon.
"He's such a big part of our community, so we're all just so happy that the outcome is positive."
