The school meals scheme is set to continue from next week despite all schools remaining closed.
The programme funds food services for disadvantaged children with more than 1,500 schools taking part - 28 of those schools are here in Cork
Serious concerns had been raised about how the scheme could continue to operate while all schools remain closed until at least April 19th.
Freshtoday, one of Ireland's leading school meal providers, has been working with the Education Deaprtment for the past two weeks on a resolution and says from Monday every child who avails of the scheme will be entitled to a weekly provision of groceries, delivered to their school for collection.
Ray Nangle from Freshtoday told RedFM News that a text will be issued to parents detailing collection times next week .
"They'll get that text from the school as they would normally - they should get that text Friday or Saturday telling them what day and time they can come to the school next week to collect their provision.
"In Cork we deal with 28 schools so we deal with some of the bigger ETB schools, like St Colman's Midleton and Davis College in Mallow and some of the others in the City.
"We're currently working with them in relation to getting meal provisions to them on Monday and Tuesday next week."
