Doctors are still reporting significant delays with testing for Covid-19.

It comes as 12 more people with the virus have died and 236 have tested positive.

The death toll here is now 1,458.

There are almost 23,000 confirmed cases of the virus in Ireland- Cork has the third highest number of cases at 1,207

The head of the HSE says turnaround time from the swab being taken to a lab result is 2.4 days.

But Cork GP Dr Nick Flynn says it can take a lot longer than that.

"Our experience on the ground is that it's a mixed bag, really.

'We have seen improvements, certainly, but we have GPs across the country reporting that there are delays and significant delays in the process.

"In some cases we're seeing 7-10 days delay in requesting the test and getting the result."
