Sinn Féin say the Covid-19 crisis has forced them to hold a virtual public meeting this evening.

The 'Cork Versus Covid-19' meeting will be chaired by Cork South Central TD Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire and will hear from local TDs Thomas Gould and Pat Buckley as well as the party's Health spokesperson Louise O'Reilly.

Blackpool GP Dr Nick Flynn will also be answering questions from the public.

Speaking to RedFM News, Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire says public engagement with political parties remains important.

"Obviously the public health emergency has meant that public gatherings are restricted.

"So we've had to be innovative in how we engage with the public.

"We are discussing how the people of Cork are rising to the challenge of Covid, the healthcare issues that exist, the impact on people's lives, their livelihoods, work, everything connected to that."
