SIPTU Says Homehelps Will Find It Very Hard To Step Away From Their Clients

The HSE announced on Thursday that some elderly people are having their home help hours cut

It's so carers can focus on more vulnerable patients.

In a statement issued to RedFM News the Health Service Executive says any changes will apply to people who have been assessed as being less reliant on the service.

The union has hit out at the methods employed to decide what level of home support people will be available to people during the Covid 19 pandemic saying it's solely based on medical grounds.

Speaking to RedFM News SIPTU's Liam Allen says theses cuts have sparked a huge amount of fear in the community:
