SIPTU Urges Government To Set Up A Task Force To Deal With Covid-19 Cases Among Meat Factory Staff

Earlier RedFM News highlighted how staff at Kepak in Watergrasshill have voiced their frustration after a number of workers were diagnosed with Covid-19.

A large number of employees were tested at the meat processing factory after some staff showed symptoms last week amid a spike in the number of cases at meat plants across the country.

SIPTU is calling for a raft of protection measures to be put in place including mandatory temperature testing.

Greg Ennis from the union says meat factories are susceptible to easily spreading the disease.
