The Dáil sits this afternoon as smaller political parties are digesting a coalition offer from Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil.

Inside the Dáil chamber the government's response to the Coronavirus will be discussed including the situation in nursing homes.

The Greens Parliamentary Party will meet to consider their initial response to the coalition offer from Leo Varadkar and Micheál Martin.

RISE TD Paul Murphy has urged smaller parties not to go along with the deal.

"I've never seen a more blatant trap in my life, a trap being laid every openly for the Greens or the Social Democrats, where supposedly Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael are reborn, they now see the role of the state and provision of housing et cetera et cetera.

"It's obviously a complete load of nonsense."
