Some healthcare workers are going to be redeployed to private nursing homes to help tackle the spread of Covid 19.
The sector has been badly hit by the coronavirus with 151 clusters now present nationwide.
They also account for almost half of the deaths so far.
The redeployment will be done on a voluntary basis.
Mervin Taylor from Sage Advocacy says extra staff and better testing are badly needed.
"There are people out there who are really doing their very best.
"They need more nursing staff, they need medical support.
"They need rapid testing, which is a huge problem in the public and private system of nursing homes of staff being out and not knowing if they have to isolate if they don't know they have it or not."
