The service is being reduced to six centres across Cork and two in Kerry
The remaining cells will be locked and kept sterile in case they are needed in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak
Dr Nick Flynn of mycorkgp.ie told RedFM News that the same number of GP's will be available and this move will ensure the service can be maintained
