Students due move to Cork for college next week are struggling to find accommodation

Students who are making a move to Cork for their education are finding it difficult to secure accommodation.

It comes as some students are facing costs of up to €11,000for on-campus accommodation over the next year.

Trinity College Dublin and University of Limerick are both increasing their rates for the new term.

While the prices for returning students at UCD can rise as high as 11,100 euro.

Rory's due to start second year at UCC next week and still can't find anywhere:

"I started taking a list, just, you know, halfway through the process to kind of keep track of like numbers and everything and like I have 16 places on the list so far out of all them I think I've gotten a response from two."
