There has been surge in the number of people walking, cycling and running since the Covid-19 restrictions were put in place in March.
New Sport Ireland research shows that more adults are now active than previously despite the restrictions.
During March and April 78 percent of Irish adults said they were going for a recreational walk at least once a week, which is around 500,000 more than the same period last year.
Meanwhile, around 450,000 people took up running over the last two months.
