The Government is considering allowing up to three separate households to gather.

Leo Varadkar says they hope to relax restrictions more over Christmas before tightening the rules again.

The Tanaiste also confirmed retail, gyms, and hairdressers will reopen first saying it’ll be hair-cuts and shopping before nights out.
Hotels , restaurants and bars that serve food are expected to follow later.
Wet pubs could stay closed for the rest of the year.

A Cabinet meeting has been scheduled for 1pm on Friday to make a decision about exiting Level Five.

It's expected a formal announcement will then be made around 6pm that evening.

The Tanaiste confirmed that the final call won’t be made until the end of the week.

"You know the earliest  will be Friday before we're able to give people more information on that but of course it's the government's objective to allow people to have a family dinner on Christmas day as normal as is possible but it's too early to make that call yet"
