The Taoiseach says the 8pm closing time for hospitality businesses could be scrapped.
The curfew has been in place for weeks in an effort to slow the spread of the Omicron variant.
While cases surged over Christmas, officials are hopeful the peak of the wave has now passed.
Micheál Martin says the issue will be examined next week:
"The restrictions are very severe on the sector. There's no point in saying anything else. So we're making progress against Omicron. There will be a meeting of NPHET next week, and I would hope that we would be in a position to move further in terms of the current restrictions, but I'm not in the position yet to say anything definitive about that. I want to really see what the public health people are saying and also having a sense of where Omicron is."
