The Taoiseach has said the country is not in a position yet to be able to ease coronavirus restrictions.
Leo Varadkar has also encouraged people to ignore speculation on how restrictions might be lifted over the coming weeks.
A decision will be made by the cabinet on Friday as to whether there can be an easing of the lockdown measures.
But Taoiseach Leo Varadkar says as things stand, it might not be possible.
"We really have to look at things like the number of patients in ICUs with Covid, the number of new cases, the number of deaths.
"I don't think I'd be speaking out of school by saying those numbers aren't just good enough yet.
"Maybe it'll change significantly by Friday, but as things stand I don't think we're there yet, there's still over 100 patients in our ICUs with Covid."
