The Taoiseach is coming under pressure to support a public inquiry into nursing home deaths during the pandemic.

Families who lost loved ones in Dealgan House nursing home in Dundalk, Co Louth, say they are still looking for answers, almost two years on from a devastating Covid-19 outbreak.

The calls from the campaign group Care Champions, come ahead of a National Ceremony of Remembrance and Reflection tomorrow.

It's pushing for an enquiry to encompass all nursing homes throughout the country.

Its chairperson Majella Beaty says it's not about a witch hunt, but rather about getting answers and correcting past mistakes:

"We need to know the facts. Families cannot move forward until they know what happened. Not only does the patient need to sit down and listen to us and ensure that there is an inquiry into what has happened. We need to drive reform."
