Teachers Unions are meeting with the Department of Education this afternoon to further discuss how predictive grades for the Leaving Cert will work.
Last week both the ASTI and TUI accepted the decision to cancel this year's Leaving Cert exams and replace them with predictive grades.
Now, the TUI is calling for a protocol to protect teachers from being contacted by students trying to influence their grades.
President Seamas Lahart says any lobbying needs to be noted.
"This really is a deterrent, and just to say to anyone that might engage in such a foolish practice that there is a system of logging there and it won't go unnoticed.
"I have no doubt that people will recognise that and allow teachers to exercise their professional judgement."
