313 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed last night

3 more deaths were reported by the Department of Health - while the 14 day incidence rate per 100,000 has increased to 81.2.

Dr Tony Holohan says the public needs to play it safe and choose their contacts carefully in the run up to Christmas:

'So were 14 days from Christmas Day. It's now time to start thinking about the plans you have over Christmas. Minimize your social contacts for the next 14 days. And that reduces the chances of picking up this infection before Christmas. And that minimizes your chances of passing this infection on to someone you love over the Christmas period.'
