'The economy can't keep going the way it is at the moment' says head of Cork tourism body

A Cork tourism body says unless the balance between health and the economy is found, the coming years will see thousands and thousands of job losses.

The Irish Hotels Federation says 100,000 jobs have already been lost since the beginning of the year with a further 100,000 are set to go in the coming weeks as winter booking decline and events continue to be postponed due to the restrictions on indoor gatherings.

Meanwhile concern is mounting for the future of jobs in the aviation industry in Ireland with air travel decimated in the past few months.

Speaking to RedFM News Head of Visit Cork Seamus Heaney says the right balance hasn't been found:
