The Government Is Set To Expand Covid-19 Business Support Schemes

The Tanaiste says new initiatives will be also be developed for businesses locked out of exisiting supports.

Speaking to the Business Post, Leo Varadkar says the CRSS and employment wage subsidy scheme will have to remain in place into the second half of the year, and "longer" for worst affected sectors.

He says the Government is working on helping firms shut by the pandemic but ineligible for supports under current criteria.

The Tanaiste says specific consideration is being given to how to "relaunch" the hospitality, tourism and entertainment sectors.
