It would be for the duration of the Covid-19 pandemic
The call follows advise from Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan who said social distancing will be a part of Irish life until a vaccine is mass produced.
The party say traffic movements on major roads are 25% of what they were before the crisis and are calling for more to be done to allow people living in built up areas to exercise safely.
