iHeartFacts.ie has been set up to allow people to submit health claims they have seen on social media to a team of experts who will then research the claim and report on whether it is true or false.
It follows a number of bogus health rumours in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic such as the claim that anti-inflammatory medicines make people more susceptible to catching the coronavirus.
Dr Francis Shiely is Director of Education at the Health Research Board in the City.
