The loss of two major events in the city in the coming weeks is challenging for the local authority and traders

That's according to the Chief Executive of Cork City Council Ann Doherty.

The City Council's Chief Executive Ann Doherty says work is being done to keep some aspects of the festivals in a bid to sustain the local economy which benefits greatly from such events in the city.

Both Culture Night and the Cork Jazz Festival will not be going ahead in the traditional format due to the challenges imposed by the COVID19 outbreak.

Speaking to RedFM News Chief Executive of Cork City Council Ann Doherty says Culture Night will be the first test for the city to see what can be done while complying with public health advice:
