The Music and Entertainment Association is describing last night's restrictions announcement as 'another devastating day for the industry'.
Spokesperson Matt McGranahan says the news of a maximum of 50 per cent capacity at entertainment and cultural events has caused confusion:
"But obviously now a mandate at 50% capacity in theatres... The confusion that is out there among promoters and venues and theatres across the country of how can they implement this. How do they, you know, what patrons are going to be the lucky patrons who have booked tickets, etc. It's a very difficult position that they're all in."
