The Opportunity For Debenhams To Close Their Stores Due To The Covid-19 Pandemic 'Fell Into Their Arms'

That's according to former shop steward at Debenhams Patrick's St. Valerie Conlon

She will be one of dozens of workers staging a silent protest tomorrow.

Debenhams workers across the country, including their 2 stores in Cork on Patrick's St. and Mahon, will protest their treatment by the company from 11am tomorrow morning.

Debenhams announced on April 9th that they would not be re-opening their Irish stores after the coronavirus pandemic has finished.

The workers are calling on other retain workers and the general public to show their support, as Oasis, Warehouse, and Laura Ashley have also announced permanent closures due to Covid-19.

Speaking to RedFM News, Cork Debenhams Worker Valerie Conlon says the protest will practice social distancing measures:
