The IGNITE programme at UCC is holding its awards and showcase online this evening for the first time due to the COVID19 outbreak.
Among the finalists are a qualified nurse working on the frontline and a Masters graduate who was diagnosed with dyslexia and has now developed a technology company for parents and educators.
The IGNITE programme has supported more than 120 new companies since its inception.
Cork woman Ali Rose Sisk is a nurse who has designed SafeCare, management software which reduces documentation time and audit time for nurses and allows them to be more hands on.
Speaking to RedFM New Ali-Rose says the IGNITE programme allowed her make her concept a reality, and it's software that's needed now more so than ever before:
