UCC says the vast majority of students have been sticking to public health guidance, but it has received some complaints about alleged breaches of student rules.
It's still investigating whether they were broken, but 11 students have been temporarily suspended pending the outcome of a hearing.
UCC Students Union had been criticised for going ahead with online Freshers' Week activities, during the Covid crisis.
