27 more people have lost their lives in the Republic after getting Covid-19.
It brings the death toll to 1,429.
156 new cases have been detected in the past 24 hours, with the total standing at 22,541 confirmed cases in this country.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has details on those who have died.
"571 occurred in a hospital environment, that's 40%, 69 in intensive care units that's 4.8%.
"Reports of underlying conditions in 1,232 of those that's 86%.
"The male/female breakdown is almost identical, 719 males, 710 females."
