UPDATE: Debenhams Ireland Says It Is Insolvent And Unable To Pay Its Debts

The firm outlined how in September 2018 the Irish arm of Debenhams recorded a loss for the financial year of €21.6 million

Debenhams has issued a statement on the appointment of a provisional liquidator to the firm's Irish stores

330 employees at the firm's two Cork stores on Patrick Street and in Mahon Point Shopping centre have all lost their jobs in the move which trade unions have described as "cynical' and 'opportunistic'

Debenhams say it has had no option but to apply to the court today to have a provisional liquidator appointed to the business.

The firm also outlined how in September 2018 the Irish arm of Debenhams recorded a loss for the financial year of €21.6 million.
