A number of hospitals have implemented strict visitor restrictions this evening. It comes amid growing speculation about unconfirmed cases of Covid 19 Leeside.
The Mater Private in Cork is currently restricting access to the hospital's facilities to patients only
The hospital are taking the action as a precautionary measure in the interest of patient safety
They have also cancelled all non-essential meetings at the hospital and as a result this evening's Cardiology Master Class has been postponed until further notice.
Meanwhile strict visitor restrictions have been introduced at Cork University Hospital due to Infection Control concerns.
CUH says it's in the interest of patient care and to prevent the spread of infections within the hospital.
It says these are necessary measures and regrets any inconvenience caused.
It comes amid unconfirmed reports circulating on social media surrounding suspected cases of the Corona Virus in Cork.
However the HSE has reiterated to RedFM News this evening they cannot comment on individual cases, and that a daily Department of Health press briefing will be streamed online tonight where such questions will be dealt with.
