UPDATE: Workers At Wallis, Dorothy Perkins And Miss Selfridge Concessions At Debenhams At Risk Of Redundancy

The companies are owned by Arcadia who have informed their staff that this change has come about due to the appointment of a liquidator to Debenhams

Workers at Wallis, Dorothy Perkins & Miss Selfridge which operate as concessions at Debenhams Cork outlets have been told that they are at risk of redundancy

The companies are owned by Arcadia and they have written to staff today, who have been on paid leave, since the Covid 19 restrictions led to the closure of all non essential stores, to inform them that as Debenhams is now closed and a liquidator appointed that their situation has changed

Earlier today staff at Debenhams took part in a protest outside the Patrick Street and Mahon Point Stores appealing to the public for support and for the Government to step in and save their jobs

Debenhams has already informed it's 1500 staff members in Ireland that it doesn't expect its Irish stores to reopen once the Covid-19 restrictions are lifted - this directly impacts 330 staff in Cork

Trade union Mandate represents these workers and is working to assist them through this liquidation process

Speaking to RedFM News Lorraine O'Brien of Mandate clarified the situation facing the workers in the concessions
