The rule is set to be dropped in the coming days but will remain in place for unvaccinated passengers.

Currently passengers need to show evidence of an antigen test taken within 48 hours or a PCR test within 72 hours of arriving into the country.

However some passengers now face the prospect of not being able to travel due to their digital Covid certificate being out of date.

New EU-travel rules will mean the certs are only valid for 9 months after your last dose.

Irish-issued certificates have not yet been updated to show a person's booster status, though the Department of Health says work is underway to address this.
