Visiting restrictions have been reimposed at St Luke's nursing home in the city following another outbreak of Covid-19.

A small number of residents and staff have been affected and a HSE team is expected to arrive tomorrow to give booster vaccine jabs.

St Luke's provides accommodation for up to 128 residents at the purpose-built facility in Mahon.

The Irish Examiner reports that there is a multi-disciplinary clinical team caring for all residents.

The nursing home was inspected in January by HIQA when the centre was in the middle of what was described as "a substantial outbreak" of Covid-19.
