Lives could be lost if a Cork based community air ambulance is grounded.
That's the warning from the Irish Community Rapid Response who run the service from Rathcoole Aerodrome outside Millstreet.
The service is due to be permanently grounded next Friday April 3rd, after fundraising efforts were halted due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Crews flew over 350 missions since the service was established 8 months ago.
Speaking to RedFM News, Ruth Bruton from ICRR says they have requested immediate assistance from the government.
"This is a vital frontline service. While we are in the midst of a pandemic, cardiac arrests, strokes. farming accidents and road traffic collisions still occur.
"We are still needed. WE are a vital frontline service.
"We have reached out. We haven't heard anything back. If there's any way we can keep flying, we need that support."
