New HSE figures show over 95 per cent of over 12s are fully vaccinated in those areas.
Cork has a 95.5% uptake in over 18's and 93.5% in over 12's. There are 8 counties where more than 10 per cent of eligible people haven't got a first dose yet - with uptake lowest in Monaghan and Donegal. Monaghan GP Aideen Brides believes the rate may be higher - as many people received their jab across the border:"We'd have a lot of people who might have been born in Northern Ireland and then are now living in Monaghan, or they might have a social security number in Northern Ireland and Northern Ireland were ahead of the republic in terms of rolling out their first doses. So a lot of people who are actually residing in Monaghan and Donegal also would probably have been eligible for a vaccine across the border."
