That's according to Ireland's Chief Medical Officers

The Chief Medical Officers says we're making progress in suppressing the current rise of Covid-19 but it's too early to ease our efforts.

Dr Tony Holohan says Ireland is currently one of only four countries in the EU with a reduction in its 7-day incidence.

The reproductive number has dropped to around 1.0 and there's a fall in the number of young people contracting the virus.

416 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in the Republic, with a major decrease in Cork from 120 on Friday to 62 yesterday.

DCU Professor Anthony Staines says we should follow the lead of Melbourne in Australia and implement more restrictions when Level 5 ends:
