West Cork Music Venue Owner Hopes Tomorrow's Budget Will Consider Difficulties Encountered By Those In The Hospitality Industry

He says the industry has been left on its knees after the COVID19 outbreak

Under the current Government restrictions gatherings indoors are limited, and restaurants and pubs are only allowed to operate outdoors to a maximum of 15 people.

The live music entertainment industry meanwhile, which employs over 35,000 full and part-time workers, has been decimated.

An open letter signed by more than 600 artists was published last month calling for supports for the industry which the letter stated had received “virtually no government aid”.

Speaking to RedFM News Sam McNicholl of Connolly's of Leap says thousands rely on the entertainment industry here in Cork and across the country and support is needed to allow venues to operate at a limited capacity until the pandemic ends, and tomorrow's budget should reflect that:
