The Echo reports contractors are working around the clock to convert a disused building at St Mary's Health Campus in Gurranabraher into an isolation building.
The building will require new insulation, doors and paint before it can be reopened.
The HSE are also said to be in the process of identifying empty buildings in towns across Cork.
