Thousands of workers are returning to offices for the first time in 18 months as Covid-19 restrictions ease.
The phased return begins today as social distancing rules will remain in place for at least another month.
The Irish Congress of Trade Unions is urging people to make sure their employers are sticking to the pandemic safety plan.
Businesses have a duty to make sure social distancing is still being practiced and that rooms are kept ventilated.
ICTU general secretary Patricia King says everyone going back to their workplace today should pick a colleague to liase with bosses on safety protocols.
"Every employer must complete a risk assessment of the office and the work place.
"Every workplace should select a lead worker representative who would have responsibility to make sure that all the safety measures are being put in place, and to work with the managers on that."
