It's to allow people to kiss it once again
Blarney Castle will re-open next Monday 29th June, as Ireland moves to Phase 3 of the Government's Roadmap to Recovery.
The Covid-19 pandemic signaled the first time in history that it was not possible to kiss the Blarney Stone.
The grounds will re-open on Monday, with social distancing measures, limited visitor numbers and hand sanitiser stations all in place.
The person holding people kissing the Blarney Stone, will be wearing a protective face shield and gloves, and the stone will be cleaned after each use.
