The World Health Organisation is describing the global Covid booster programme as a 'scandal'.
Over 300,000 additional doses have been given out in the Republic so far.
Director-general of the WHO, Tedros Ghebreyesus, objects to such a widespread programme:
"It makes no sense to give boosters to healthy adults or to vaccinate children., when the health workers or older people and other high risk groups around the world are still waiting for their first dose. The exception is immunocompromised individuals."
