Covid-19 masks will remain a key part of our lives for a long time to come.
That's the main message from Sligo-born Dr. Mike Ryan who is Executive Director of the World Health Organisation.
Speaking on Independent.ie, he said despite some positive developments, there are still a million cases of Covid-19 in Europe each week.
Dr. Ryan says the very people who need vaccinations around the World, can't get them.
"The reality is right now today, if we think about this in terms of an analogy. We're planning to handle. Extra Life jackets to people who already have life jackets, while we're leaving other people to drown without a single life jacket."
