The amount people spent using their credit and debit cards rose by 3% from June to July.
€195 million more was spent from month to month, according to the Central Bank.
The amount spent on accomodation and restaurants rose by 35% and 20% respectively as restrictions eased.
The Central Bank says its latest data for August continues to show continued strong growth in spending in those sectors as well as transport.
