DAA is now offering lower rates for airlines to move routes to Cork Airport.

The airport operator says Ireland shouldn’t suffer a drop in flights because of the passenger cap at Dublin Airport.

No more than 32 million passengers are allowed travel through the airport each year.

Speaking to RedFM News, DAA CEO Kenny Jacobs says the passenger cap at Dublin shouldn’t result in Ireland losing out on connectivity:

"It's really, really important that Irish aviation doesn't lose out, I'd rather aircraft relocate to Shannon, to Kerry, anywhere. We can incentivise them to relocate to Cork, because we run Cork and Dublin airports, but it's really important that Irish aviation doesn't lose aircraft to the airports in the UK and airports in EU, because that would be very hard to get back."
