Dangerous sinkhole closes road in Leamlara

A road in Leamlara is closed due to a large sinkhole.

The hole in the tarmac between Leamlara and Glanmire is about a foot wide.

A video was posted to the social media platform TikTok yesterday and the County Council has closed the road.

Speaking to RedFM News, Senior Engineer with Cork County Council Ger Barry says the sink hole is still being investigated:

"It was monitored over the weekend and it was decided on Sunday to close the road to true traffic as precautionary measure. The measure has been investigators and assessed by engineers this morning."
