DNA results from the skeletal remains discovered at a house in Youghal are expected to be known today.
Officers investigating the murder of Tina Satchwell found the bones under the floor of a house in the town on Wednesday evening.
The remains were removed to Cork University Hospital yesterday evening and a sample of bone was sent for DNA analysis.
It’s expected that it will be known whether the sample matches that of a member of Tina’s family today.
A major search of a house and garden in Youghal got underway on Tuesday evening, while another second search of a lock-up close to a former Co-Op yard around 8km outside Youghal was completed earlier yesterday.
A man in his 50s was arrested yesterday morning and is due to be charged or released later today.
Tina Satchwell was last seen in public at a car boot sale on the 19th of March 2017. She was 45-years-old at the time of her disappearance.
